The Reunion was nominated for Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (with Max & Ivan as the only sketch act on the list) and was the third best reviewed show in the Edinburgh Fringe that year, including:
'A feel good triumph' ★★★★ (Time Out)
'Max & Ivan are the real deal' ★★★★ (Guardian)
'Slick, funny and a real joy to watch' ★★★★ (Independent)
Max & Ivan are a globally acclaimed comedy double-act, who have performed their intricate multi-character live shows at SXSW festival, the Adelaide Fringe, the Edinburgh Fringe (where their work has been nominated for Best Comedy), and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (nominated for Most Outstanding Show), as well as on tour throughout the UK.
They are creators of The Wrestling, the biggest and most spectacular show in the Edinburgh Fringe, in which the world’s best comedians learn to wrestle, and then step into the ring to do battle with actual enormous pro wrestlers. Previous participants in the show include Ronny Chieng, Katherine Ryan and Sam Simmons. It has performed to sold-out crowds in Melbourne and Edinburgh, where it won the Edinburgh Comedy Awards Panel Prize.
They write and star in their own BBC Radio 4 sitcom, The Casebook of Max & Ivan, which has attracted guest stars including Matt Lucas, June Whitfield, Jessica Hynes, Reece Shearsmith and Mark Heap.
They are also co-founders of The Free Association, London’s premier improv school. As actors they have appeared separately on a range of shows including W1A (BBC 2) Peep Show (Channel 4) and Drunk Histories (Comedy Central).
They have just adapted The Reunion for Channel 4 as a series of three comedy shorts, and are currently developing projects for film and TV.
